Seven floors of apartments over open parking on a 3,584-square-foot corner plot — one 2,183-square-foot flat to a level, faced in red and charcoal brick banded with white concrete.
The challenge
Hemmed in by apartment blocks on two sides, the corner plot had to carry seven cars and a plant room at ground level and still give every flat a private front.
The approach
Parking stays open behind slatted timber gates so the building begins a storey up, and each flat splits in two — formal living and dining to the street, four bedrooms and service rooms behind the lift core. Projecting balconies with glass balustrades break the brickwork, and the roof becomes a planted terrace under a steel pergola.
