A 48,000-square-foot effluent treatment plant folded into a knit-composite factory in Kashipur — part sunk below the building, part open to the sky.
The interesting move here is how a knit-composite factory takes its effluent treatment plant inside the building — part of it sinking below grade, the rest opening to the sky. The fenestration echoes the knit pattern of the fabric, while the front opens space for greenery. The RCC structure is built for functional efficiency and low maintenance; an assortment of voids keeps the place breathable with natural air, edge staircases are wrapped in louvers for controlled visibility and airflow, and the roof carries green space and voids for breaks.
