A footwear manufacturing campus known as Bujputi — one long-span production shed carrying cutting, stitching and lasting, with brick-faced admin and residential blocks set around it.
The challenge
Cutting, stitching and lasting lines need one uninterrupted floor, yet the workforce that runs them has to live, eat and rest on the same site.
The approach
A single long-span shed carries the production lines end to end under exposed red steel portal frames, so material moves in sequence from cutting through to finishing under one roof. Dormitories, canteen, offices and a domed hall sit apart in brick and white-framed blocks, with a pool and a court on the lawn between them.
