Architecture
Pacific Jeans’ manufacturing complex sits on a 3.9-acre site beside the Dhaka–Chittagong highway — a long block that steps to follow the outline of the land.
The challenge
Building to the shape of the site produced a long, thin plan, which left the elevation carrying all of the architecture and the programme needing to be built fast and cheaply.
The approach
The fenestration was set out as a repeating module, so the same window and pier units run the length of the block and shift in rhythm at each step in plan. Building one pattern many times cut cost and construction time and left the layout flexible; planted roof courts sit between the stair and lift cores.
Scope of work
Architecture for a garment manufacturing complex on a 3.9-acre site. Pacific Jeans Knitex, TO CONFIRM.
