Interiors
A large multi-storey warehouse for Vertex — planned so the steel racking system builds the floors themselves, rather than standing on a structure laid in first.
The challenge
Industrial storage rarely gets design attention, and this one had to move goods vertically across several levels at speed while keeping running costs and artificial lighting down.
The approach
Racking runs floor to roof as a composite structure, its steel decks doubling as the working levels, and two goods lifts with separate loading and unloading bays keep stock moving. Windows sit asymmetrically across the elevations and linear strips of translucent sheeting are cut into the roof, so the floors are daylit for most of the working day.
Scope of work
Architecture and interiors for a multi-storey warehouse with its own offices and loading bays. Vertex Warehouse, TO CONFIRM.
