A production shed for Tradesworth Group at Atlapur, Rupganj — a retrofit that keeps the existing column grid and circulation and rebuilds around them, beside a river.
The challenge
Replacing the factory outright would have meant demolition, waste and months of stopped production, so the 13,400 square foot upgrade had to happen while the plant kept running.
The approach
The existing columns and circulation routes are retained and adapted, so new production, storage and administrative space is fitted inside the frame already there. Continuous skylights run the length of the production roof to cut artificial lighting, the office block turns towards the water with its own terraces, and exposed concrete, ribbed metal cladding and brick carry the industrial character.
