A university building for UITS on a corner plot — board-marked concrete blocks pinwheeled around an open core, with each set-back roof turned into a planted terrace.
The challenge
A tight corner plot with roads on two sides left almost no ground for the courtyards, shade and gathering space an urban campus needs day to day.
The approach
Blocks are pinwheeled around a full-height slot and the ground floor lifted onto columns, so the plot reads as one shaded court with a water pool and stepped entrance at the corner. Every roof left by the offset stacking is planted and railed, while board-marked concrete walls close the flanks against the road.
