An administrative building’s interior for Square Toiletries — the company’s brand values set as vertical lettering down the concrete columns, under a black steel grid hung across the double-height lobby.
The challenge
A double-height lobby with an exposed concrete frame and a mezzanine above risks reading as raw shell, while the offices behind it are narrow rooms with high-level windows only.
The approach
An open black steel grid is hung at single-storey height over the reception, bringing the tall space back to human scale while the concrete soffit stays visible above it. Perforated metal screens, pale limestone-toned wall panels and a large-format tile floor carry the light deep in; tan leather and walnut warm the offices.
