An office for Vanguard — reception, meeting rooms and workstations threaded through a series of white ribbed portals that turn from wall to ceiling and back.
The challenge
A deep floor plate lit only at its edges had to hold a public reception, private cabins and open desks without the partitions turning the plan into a corridor.
The approach
White ribbed plaster frames run from the ceiling down the walls, marking each threshold without closing it, and glass partitions with frosted vertical banding keep sightlines open across the floor. Walnut veneer — flat, slatted and studded — lines the reception wall, the ceiling rafts and the cabin doors, with orange upholstery as the only strong colour.
