SORRA, a restaurant with a rooftop terrace above it — the dining room planted from the ceiling down, with trailing greenery hung from an open steel mesh soffit.
The challenge
Two very different rooms had to feel like one place: a deep interior floor with no outlook, and an exposed roof terrace that only comes alive after dark.
The approach
Indoors, planting hangs from a mesh ceiling grid over herringbone timber boards, opal glass globes drop between rattan fan shades, and a gridded screen of mesh and concrete panels separates the bar from the tables. Above, the same board-marked concrete and greenery return on the terrace, where a covered bar and low banquettes face the skyline.
