The brief
MAATI is REINCARNATION’s competition proposal for affordable urban housing aimed at Bangladesh’s third- and fourth-tier city contexts. It weaves a vernacular architectural language together with informal meeting spaces and playground environments, so that density is met with community rather than bare units. Across 28,548 sft, the scheme argues that affordable housing need not compromise on dignity, daylight or shared civic life.
