KSRM Mosque

A mosque, typically a fundamental Islamic structure, is a “place of prostration,” signifying kneeling. Islamic architecture transcends regions, evolving over the years into an eclectic fusion of elements from areas influenced by Islam. Unlike historical monumental mosques, contemporary designs, like the “KSRM Mosque”, establish a unique identity by incorporating transformed forms. The design was initially conceptualized with the fundamental idea that a sacred space should facilitate meditation, emotional purification, and spiritual connection directly with God. The building’s articulation involves identifying essential mosque elements, focusing on function and symbolism rather than mere aesthetics. The concept revolves around the dual nature of humans, incorporating light and dark elements represented by brick jaali and solid walls, respectively. To enhance the spiritual atmosphere, glass is strategically used to maximize natural light and ventilation from all sides, aligning with the purpose of mosques as spaces for spiritual enlightenment. The design introduces a fresh language for the mosque, one that is significantly transformed, simple yet distinctive, and aligns seamlessly with contemporary requirements.
