Dressman Apparel’s factory is housed in a triangular shaped land where the existing building took up most of the space. The challenge was to fit a linear shaped factory to serve the functions well. What we had designed was a slick, minimal structure to maximise the use of land. There are finned openings on the East and West sides to allow diffused lights and louvered windows on North & South for cross ventilation. It’s a composite structured building. Columns are wrapped with brick layers for fire proofing. The louvred walls on staircase ensured natural ventilation. The balconies at the corner of two top floors, provided space for socialization.
