Landscape
A private house on a wooded, sloping site — broken into stone-clad pavilions that step down with the contours, with water courts and planted roofs set between them.
The challenge
A house of this footprint on a falling, tree-covered site risks becoming a single heavy block that cuts the slope in two and turns its back on the woodland.
The approach
The plan is split into narrow bars separated by courtyards, each holding a shallow pool, so daylight and air reach both faces of every room and the ground continues visually between them. Load-bearing piers in banded stone carry deep timber-framed glazing; roofs are planted or laid to grass, and a timber pergola shades the top terrace.
Scope of work
Architecture and landscape design for a private house, its courtyards and pool terraces. Noman’s Residence, TO CONFIRM.
